Make Use Of Social Networking Sites To Boost The Visibility Of Your Business

Over the past few years we have seen hundreds of social networking sites and blogs like Myspace, You tube, Blogger, Wikipedia, Second Life, Digg, Stumble upon, LinkedIn and lots of social networking sites based on User generated content popping up here and there. These sites have a huge impact our day to day life. Everyone is talking about these sites, at home, at office and everywhere you go you hear someone talking or sharing about these sites. If you watch closely most of these sites have one thing in common. It is all based on users that are you and me. In olden days when Internet was in the boom, it was all about them but now it is all based on You. No wonder Time person of the year was YOU. Otherwise known as Web 2.0 or Web 3.0. What is this do with you and your business? A lot.

In the near future the way we search and find information will be different than how we used, You will be getting information in a much easier, powerful and efficient way. Not only search the entire WWW will change, making it useful for the end users. For example one of the Google’s future ranking methods will be based on your personalized search, another algo will be based on the author. If you or your business is following the same old method, soon your competition will take over your clients and place. Here are some of the ways you can use these social networking site to boost your rankings.

Some of the Social Networking sites are:

MySpace (www.myspace.com), You Tube, Blogger (www.blogger.com ), Wikipedia, Second Life, Digg (www.digg.com ), Stumble upon, LinedIn (www.linkedin.com ) and a lot of other social bookmarking and networking sites. I will give a list of Social Networking sites in the next post.

Now how can you boost your business thru these sites?

  1. Submit your sites to these sites. If you have a blog submit it to these sites
  2. Create a profile for your company and post your company website, blogs and contact information
  3. If you are an expert in your field, write stories, tips and advice about your industry and submit it to these sites
  4. Have a powerful headline that grabs the attention of the visitors who visit these sites
  5. Network with other members in these community
  6. Make friends and exchange ideas, add contacts
  7. Always have a link to your site and a contact information so that it is easier for others to contact you
  8. Write articles about your expertise
  9. Most of these sites are free to join. So go ahead and sign up for as many sites as possible and be an active member contributing something to these sites
  10. Since all these sites are considered to be newsworthy and fresh. Major search engines looks and ranks a site which has fresh content.
  11. Exchange stories, all these sites have features like post it on your blog or site, So it is easy to post articles, stories to your site and it is easy with one click or just copy and paste the code
  12. You can use the tools and widgets used in these sites to promote your story
  13. Ask and Give answers to the questions asked in these sites
  14. Commenting on the post is a great way to communicate and also to promote your site.
  15. Share the stories you find interesting with your friends, family and colleagues, it is a win win for both you and the author who writes the article
  16. Viral Marketing easy and fast way to go and these sites are so easy to share and discuss
  17. Bookmark and share with others
  18. Exchange links.
  19. Refer to your friends and have them read your stories and comment on your story
  20. When you sign up for these sites, select your username related to your company or to your expertise
  21. Include a Bio with keywords
  22. Find out who is interested in similar stories you read or write and keep in touch with them and make friends with them
  23. RSS feed – Submit your RSS feed to these sites
  24. Tagging – another great way to promote your business. Tagging is the keywords that are related to your story. Give keywords that are rich and related to your business.
  25. Write reviews of other sites and subjects.
